A flute crafted from a mammoth tusk was found in the Swabian Alb (Germany) and dates back to around 30,000 to 37,000 years ago. A seven holed flute crafted from a swans bone was found in the Geißenklösterle cave also in Germany, and is 36,000 years old. Bone from a cave bear with several holes in it was found at Divje Babe in Slovenia and dates back to 43,000 years. As you can tell flutes have been here for a very long time, even the Native American flute.
