Relaxing Music With The Fujara

Ancient-Echoes-Fujara-fLute

The Fujara is over five feet long, a flageolet style fipple flute. It is the deep-bass folk flute of Slovak shepherds. This instrument is hand made from wood of the upland deciduous trees. It is best described as a solo overtone flute in bass position. The Fujara has only three fingering vents, and the height of tone is decided by the strength of in-blown air.

This beautiful instrument is cherished in the secluded Slovakian mountains. The flute has been preserved over centuries, and kept as simple as it was in the beginning. This instrument uniquely combines a natural, and easy to learn playing technique while projecting the perfect melody.
